Perhaps this should be called my escape from Corporate America!

After many LONG years of being a cube rat, I initially found out how great it is to work in sweats and slippers in my own home when I started one of the first Arabian horse marketing sites on the web, ArabianSites.com. Horses have been a lifelong passion of mine, and it was a natural fit. It keeps me busy 24/7, but it's fun. The work is similar to what I did in my former life, writing and programming computer based instruction for an insurance company, but horses are much more interesting!

Then I found THE CANDLES. Natural, clean burning, amazing candles with a scents so true you can  mistake them for the real thing. I bought them for a year, then could not resist, joined the Candle of the Month Club  and became a distributor. It is like Christmas arriving every month when I get my package containing the jar candle and votives in a new scent along with a soy soap bar that is amazing in its own right. This soap rinses off so CLEAN and leaves your skin - even my 56-year-old skin, feeling baby soft.

Better yet, I can work both businesses on the internet, and with the candle business I can also go out and market to small shops, participate in craft sales (fun!), do fundraisers, or go whatever direction I want to take the business at the moment - from home or out and about.

The candles are addicting rascals. My biggest problem is not burning up my own inventory. Unfortunately, once you pop open a jar for a friend, relative or potential customer, the candle is gone. They are that good.

Then the candle company added online preferred customer ordering, and I linked my two businesses with HorsesAndCandles.com. Life is good.

I guess you could call me a stay at home mom who also loves to work at home. Can you say you are a WAHM when your child is in her early 20's? Mostly I am working toward my goal of residual income in our retirement years which are not that far away. Plus I figure my husband Jim and I can be one of those old couples who travel around to craft sales selling our goods
